Resurgencia Cave, Camuy (1 day): The world underground, $90 p/p

If
you are looking to disconnect from the daily grind, immerse yourself into
the insides of the Earth and come out soaking wet in complete ecstasy,
Resurgencia Cave is the place for you. Resurgencia Cave is located in
Don Juan's farm, a happy troubadour whose pool table still costs 10 cents
and whose cooler is always well stocked. Dressed for adventure, and with
our backpacks on, we will begin our trek through haystack hills till we
reach a beautiful limestone cliff. There we will rappel 60 feet to the
river, which we will follow to the entrance of the cave. The cold water
and the incredible feeling of being in the bottom of this canyon will
enhance our excitement. We will walk, swim, and body raft till we come
to the entrance of the underground world. In the cave, mystery and adventure
are accentuated, and in complete darkness, you will be dreaming with open
eyes. We will encounter clay slides, surreal pathways, and an immense
hall created by the collapsing rocks. Then we head back to the thundering
river, which will take us floating back to the beginning of this adventure.
The magic of the Camuy River will baptize us over and over with the energy
and happiness that we need in our daily lives. The gift that we will receive
from nature is the confidence gained through your own effort and those
of your partners.
Trip includes: hiking, rappelling, body rafting, caving, transportation,
and specialized guides; lunch is optional.
Requirements: Minimum of 8 persons and a maximum of 14. Rates
for smaller groups can be arranged separately.
Yuyú Cave, Ciales (1 day): Spelunking fun, $85 p/p
Yuyú is the perfect experience for anyone who at some point has wanted
to go into the underground world for the first time. You will be the protagonist
of a beautiful and diverse horizontal cave trip that has no age limit.
You will get to know the great wonders of the underground world in a remote
and natural setting. Drenched in the refreshing waters of a magical underground
river that runs through great part of the cave, you will get to see sea
fossils, different types of stalactites, columns, limestone straws, and
a great hall. We will eat lunch by the lights of our lamps, since we will
spend most of the day underground, in a never-ending night. We will find
ourselves dreaming awake in a setting where the imagination never rests.
The access to the cave is in Don Tato's farm, a beautiful tropical forest
of the karst region, home to many species of birds and insects that will
make our hike an unforgettable sensory experience. Safety, fun, education
and conservation will be the goals of all our activities.

Guineo Lake, Jayuya (1 day): Water and Mountain, $85 p/p
This is a day
to row, surrounded by mountains, in search of lost waterfalls. The peaceful
waters of Guineo Lake ("banana lake") and the tropical vegetation will
be the scenery that will bathe us with the freshness and the harmony that
we all seek. A scenic and relaxing kayak trip will give us the opportunity
of getting to know this environment. We will discover an interesting water
vein that will guide us to beautiful waterfalls where we will bathe, just
as if we were bathing in the fountain of youth. We will have a delicious
and nutritious Puerto Rican lunch, under the shadows of the trees. With
our bellies and minds satisfied, we will continue exercising our bodies
rowing around and back through the lake. Good afternoon!

specialized guides.
Requirements: You do not need to know how to swim or row. This
trip has no age limits and requires a normal and stable physical condition.
Minimum of 8 persons and a maximum of 14. Rates for smaller groups can

Guilarte Mountain-Casa pueblo, Adjuntas (1 day): The mountain with
coffee aroma, $80 p/p
The
mountain with coffee aroma is for those nature and mountain lovers that
also wish to taste the essence of the Puerto Rican being. Drunk by the
coffee aroma, that is ever present in Adjuntas, we will begin the day
walking towards the top of Guilarte Mountain (1-2hrs). All along the trail,
on the way to the top of the range, an exuberant vegetation composed of
diverse tropical ecosystems (Giant ferns, Palm trees....) can be seen.
At a height of 1,204 meters above sea level you will have reached the
summit of the fifth highest mountain in Puerto Rico where, if the clouds
allow us, we will be looking over a large part of the southern coast of
the island. Upon returning to the base of the mountain a traditional kiosk
awaits us with all the local cuisine that your stomachs may hold. In the
afternoon we will visit Casa Pueblo, a house/museum and center of the
self-managed/cooperative-project where the Madre Isla coffee is made and
the Bosque del Pueblo is managed. With our coffees in hand we will get
to know this beautiful project till the last drop.
Trip includes: Hiking, visit to Casa Pueblo, transportation and
guides, lunch is optional.

for smaller groups can be arranged separately.
The Tanamá River: The butterflies trail, price varies.
The island
of Borikén is famous for its many natural beauties. The Tanamá River is
the greatest proof of its magic and greatness. Born in the Caguana barrio
in Utuado, and ending in Aguas Frías spring in Arecibo. This trip is of
more than 13 km. of scenery that is very difficult to put into words.
Maybe its 7 cavernous openings or its cliffs of melted limestone of more
than 200' of height could be better captured by great metaphors of a poet.
To me, the Tanamá river is more than all this: Its refreshing waters,
its hyperbolic nature, its countless water springs, its gothic caves,
its hallucinating valleys, its coquis at noon.... It is a place where
adventure, surprise, and mystery never end. The spectrum of possibilities
is immense, you may choose to explore all of it for 3 days, or go into
details in 2 trips of one day each, which will make you want to go back
and finish what you started.
Requirements: The complete route is 3 days and 2 nights. It has
to be discussed depending on the number of participants.
Tanamá River, Utuado (1 day): Taino expedition, $90 p/p
Once
we reach the barrio Caguana we will go into the remote lands of Don Juan.
Where the road ends, our trip begins. Step by step we are swallowed by
the forest, until we reach and impressive cathedral, the Arch Cave (Cueva
del Arco). This cave takes its name because the Tanamá River runs through
the haystack hill creating a giant natural arch. Our vertical descent
(rappelling) begins inside the cave, at 150' of height, towards the river.
It is a completely free drop from which both sides of this majestic arch
can be seen. We will reach the water with an enormous amount of adrenaline
that will take us up stream till the next amazing cave. The Tunnel Cave
is literally a rocky tunnel of about 200' long, in which the river covers
all of its margins. As a reward and with our bellies full, we will float
downstream in a wonderful body rafting. Little by little to the rhythm
of our steps, we will say goodbye to this fantastic environment, till
next time...
Trip includes: Hiking, rappelling, body rafting, transportation,
equipment, and guides, lunch is optional.
Requirements: A Minimum of 8 people and a maximum of 14. Rates
for smaller groups can be arranged separately.
Tanamá River, Arecibo (1 day): Over the observatory, $90 p/p
Welcome
to the trail of the butterflies and greenness, a magical place that will
make us forget the concrete world. The trip begins in the parking lot
of the Arecibo Observatory, then into the woods were we will disappear
between the haystack hills until we get to the refreshing and energizing
Nepo Valley. Within listening distance of the river, under a great breadfruit
tree or in a dwarf forest next to a cavernous water spring, we will make
our base or camp. In the river, with lifejackets and helmets buckled,
waterfalls, swimming, water holes, and a cliff dive from 15' to 25' high
await us. Don't worry, knowing how to swim is not a requirement and the
jump is optional. The water excursion runs through cliffs and caves that
show us the mystery and greatness of Mother Nature. Tired and in complete
ecstasies we will say goodbye to the river with the joy and the satisfaction
of having shared a 100% natural experience by the strength of our footsteps.
Trip Includes: hiking, body rafting, caves, rappelling (optional),
transportation, and guides, lunch extra.
Requirements: A Minimum of 8 people and a maximum of 14. Rates
for smaller groups can be arranged separately.
Reach for the Sky, climbing and more, Ciales (1 day): $85 p/p

Reach
for the Sky is only for the strong at heart, who love the rush of being
suspended in the air or stuck to a rock wall more than being on your feet
as ordained by gravity. With the morning dew we will begin exercising
our fingers and stirring our minds to reach well over 100' in a vertical
rock wall. It will be a physical and mental challenge that will allow
us to enjoy incredible scenery (you do not have to be a rock climber to
participate). After taking our bodies to the limit, we will go to Mata
de Plátano Bridge to experience flight. While tied to a rope and swinging
like a pendulum from one side to the other under the bridge, with the
river and the cliffs as our background, you will certainly fly. You could
not inject more adrenaline into your body in one shot, again and again,
tied African style (by your feet) you will jump into the air until your
mind screams, stop! Afterwards we will cool our bodies in the Ciales River
and stop by one of the local kiosks to sample the Puerto Rican mountain
local cuisine.
Trip Includes: Rock climbing, rappelling, pendulum, equipment,
transportation and guides.
Requirements: No previous rock climbing experience is needed but
a good physical condition is required. Safety is the number 1,2 and 3
priority of this vertical trip. Minimum of 8 people and a maximum of 14.
Rates for smaller groups can be arranged separately.
